The letter concludes: "Thursday we shall go on I hope for we are anxious to get to our work.
Do not be anxious for me. When I get on my khakis I can stand many hard knocks.
I never went into any work with more confidence for the possibilities for real
service or with more humility in thinking of the gigantic proportions of the
work we are sent to establish".
