from "Among the Deep Sea Fishers" | January 1911

Items from the New England Grenfell Association

Rev. Jesse Halsey, a graduate of Union Seminary—also a practical all-around man, a mechanic, famer, and “a saint in over-alls” as he is known at St. Anthony, is rendering very great help in that station. He is teaching plumbing and all sorts of practical work, and on Sundays is preaching and taking the large Bible Class which Dr. Grenfell formed last winter.

… And again we have been able to send to Mr. Halsey at St. Anthony, gifts in money with which he could pay men for labour and so enable them to get food for their families from the cooperative stores.

E. E. W., Secretary.
December 20th, 1910.
